Rules and Instructions
MANDATORY 
1) Orientation MEETING on Saturday the day before at 4:00 pm at transition area.
2) Proper RACE ID: Please always ware your race number on the back and front during biking and running, and on both sides of your swim cap.
3) MUST SHOW PHOTO-ID CHEK and -MEMBER CARD ID CHECK  AT BODY MARKING, ELSE NO START.
If you miss this meeting then you automatically wave all your right to complain.

Park is closed to public traffic between 7:30 a.m. to 1 pm. There is no other access to the transition area available, so every one has to be there no exceptions.
All participants must have signed the waivers, be body marked and have their bikes in the transition area at least 30 minutes before race start.

Mandatory RACE DAY Identification............by Your Race Numbers............
Identification by race number is for your safety and is the only way to get your time splits at our check points along the courses.
In your race packet there are 2 big sized and one small folding race number.
1) Place your folding race number on the horizontal bar of the bike. 2) Pin one of the big sized race number on the BACK of your BIKING shirt or your shorts 3) Pin the other big sized race number on the BACK of your RUNNING shirt, so we can see your number when you zip through a check points :) 4) Write your race number X-LARGE on both sides of your swim cap, using permanent marker provided at race packet pick up, for your own safety and ID during swimming in addition to body marking.
Note: improper identification is subject to DQ. Missing race-identification on race course is subject to citation for tress passing, fine and removal from the park for those participating illigally. Pacing is NOT allowed by USA Triathlon.

SWIM : Mandatory 5 minute swim warm up before beach* start of your wave, to show your ability to swim free style "crawl". (Attend our open water FREE-style swim clinic every weekend) *) No diving. Start to swim from standing position with water above your knee line.
You will not be disqualified if you wave the life guard for help. Wet-Swimsuits allowed at your own risk. Swim waves start at 7:30 am five minutes apart to 8 am. Swim course is closed after 9 am.

BIKE: OPEN ROAD BIKE LOOP-COURSE. Traffic assitance by CHP officer only at two left turns at begin and end of Sunset Road, else follow traffic rules at the stop sign and right turns. PLEASE FOLLOW the right turns for Olympic (RED) and (BLUE) for Windman-Half as posted on road barricades. You are responsible for studying the road maps and driving the bike course at least once before the event. Closed Bike Course inside park area.
Approved-Helmets are mandatory. Safe-Bike check yourself including breaks and tire profile. One bottled Water station at Sunset right turn, take enough drink fluid with you; 2 water bottles recommended.  RACE-RULE: No drafting. Passing within 15 seconds. Always bike at the right side of the road. DQ: DO NOT CROSS THE MIDDLE LANE DIVIDER OR DIVIATE FROM COURSE, except  at left turns.  Right  before ending the biking section at the top of the hill turning into the park SLOW DOWN STEEP HILL  to 15 mph speed limit:
FOR YOUR SAFETY and others YOU MUST SLOW DOWN with both HANDS ON the BREAKS rolling down on ALL STEEP HILLS, you must be able to stop within 3 seconds, see 
Windman-site Violators will be disqualified.

Bike course will be reopened to public traffic at 1 pm, when most Triathletes are expected to finish the 56 miles bike ride in less than 3.5 hours. Athletes biking past 1 pm will be asked to be transported to the transition area and are considered out of event liability scope if they wish to finish out of race on their own and will receive finisher ribbon and T-shirt.

RUN only on right side of the road to maintain the total running distance of the course that you commited to run. Disqualified IF crossing lanes, cutting curves or verbally abuse event staff.  Trail run: Sprint : Olympic 1 loop. Follow the arrow markings for Olympic OR Sprint (RED arrows) and (BLUE) for Windman-Half on posted road barricades. Please stay on the marked trails and DO NOT MAKE ANY SHORT CUTS PLEASE, you will end up with dry grass and splinters in your socks.   
Course will be closed at 2 pm.

Event will be closed at 3 pm after 7.5 hours from race start.
Athletes and others who wish to leave the park before bike course reopens at 1 pm to public traffic must drive out under supervision at 15 mph. Otherwise, consider parking out of bike course perimeter on Canyon Road.
